    ELIXER

    In his time, Grutte Pier was the biggest and strongest man on earth. With his enormous sword he beheaded with ease in one swing six Dutchmen. The power which he needed for that came from the love for his family, friends and Friesland.

    There are also stories that he gained his strength through a peculiar potion from a picturesque Gallic village. This magic potion was said to have medicinal qualities and to be life empowering. The alchemists who made these potions are also the inventors of the very first recipe for the Frisian beverage 'Beerenburger'.

    The ingredients of these potions are used in this beer. Elixer is a Frisian Hero Stout with Boomsma 'Beerenburger' and is so powerful that it needs to be consumed with some caution.

    A dark beer with flavours of roasted malts, liquorice, figs and raisins.

    Characteristics:

    Unfiltered and top fermented.

    Alcohol percentage: 11,5%

    Pouring temperature: 10-13 °C

    Taste: Roasted malt, liquorice, figs, beerenburg herbs and raisins.

    The Frisians fought for centuries against the water by building mounds and dykes. But first after the invention of the Frisian outlet they could keep the water in check. These outlets store surplus (rain)water in the heart of the Frisian polders.

    The outlets give live to Friesland and the Frisians.

    Due to climate change our climate is getting wetter and therefore the outlets are under pressure more often.

    Rainbeer and Grutte Pier Brewery brew this triple with Frisian rainwater in order to bring an ode both to our eternal fight against the water and to all those beautiful Frisian outlets.

    No rain, no beer.

    The recipe for this beer is the same as our Grutte Pier Triple, the only difference is the rainwater.

    Characteristics:

    Brewed with rainwater.

    3 grain triple, unfiltered and top fermented.

    Alcohol percentage: 7,5%

    Pouring temperature: 7-8 °C

    The powers of Grutte Pier had no limits. Every opponent already lost its head before he could be in shock. The battles of the Frisian folk hero took place during the night. The forces in these nights are the inspiration for this beer: 'Kracht in de Nacht' ('Force in the Night'). This beer brewed by

    Grutte Pier Brewery is a force in the night for all who shall drink it. A dark beer with flavours of

    roasted malts, liquorice, figs and raisins.

    When you open the bottle, it's the first time the beer sees light. The bottle is light-tight because of a matt layer and has ripened 12 months on a cool location. In this period of reflection the beer undergoes a taste evolution and develops its power.
